Pixsta Ltd is a start-up based in London, focused on building an image search and retrieval technology platform.




Pixsta has created advanced visual search and browse technology that enables online customers to search products by appearance alone. Consumers can conduct a visual search across multiple images and then refine the results quickly via simple clicks. Images are analysed across multiple attributes and contextually matched to results from Pixsta's image database.




Currently concentrating on various retail categories, Pixsta's technology enables online retailers to advertise via product images and permit contextual matching on all attribute levels, resulting in higher sales conversion rates. Its vision is to become the de facto standard entry point for visual search and browse on the web.

We practise agile/SCRUM methodology for our product development, are moving towards Service Oriented Architecture and applying Test Driven Development principles. The team is embarking on building its next generation product search engine and application platform.




As our Senior Web Front-end Developer, you will:

Develop and maintain a high performance, scalable and accessible websites

Participate in design and code reviews

Work with the product team to understand requirements and analyse feasibility

Work in a Test Driven Development environment

Adhere to Design and Architecture principles agreed upon by the team





Skills required:

Several years development experience of building high performance, scalable and accessible websites driven by dynamic data for international markets

Proven track record of leading edge Web Front-end development

Experience of working in an agile/SCRUM environment

Experience with Grails is highly preferred

Familiarity or experience of working within service oriented architecture (SOA) based systems

Experience or keen interest of working in a Test Driven Development environment

Good knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS, XML, AJAX/JavaScript and web interface development

Prior experience with Java development would be a plus
