About the role

We are looking for a Senior Java/Grails developer to join our Groovy and Grails team in Central London (Zone 1).
As a Senior developer you will take the lead in:
* Designing, developing, testing and deploying end-to-end solutions for our main website and our internal content management system.
* Working with designers to convert designs into well structured, flexible HTML/CSS/Javascript.
* Providing mentorship for junior developers.
Technical skills you'll need
-----------------------------------------
* Well-versed in fundamental development disciplines and principles
* 5+ years experience with Java and/or Groovy & Grails
* Solid knowledge and understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and web interface development
* Experience with Spring and Hibernate
* SQL (ideally MySQL)
* An understanding of scalable web applications (caching, clustering, grid computing, etc)
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Git ( or similar source control )
* Awesomeness
Nice to Have
--------------------
* Degree in computer science or similar discipline
* Exposure to web frameworks like Lift, Play, Roo, Ruby On Rails, Django, etc
* Payment Gateway / e-commerce experience
* Experience of working in an agile/SCRUM environment
* Linux scripting/admin useful
* Experience with Flash, ActionScript or commercial web banners
