POSITION DESCRIPTION

Role: Release Manager
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

What We Are Looking For:

Bloom Health is actively seeking a passionate and experienced Release Manager to join our growing team. This role is to be filled by someone who is enthusiastic about software development and quality assurance, as well as by someone who will establish themselves as a key contributor in a small, yet high-energy environment. This position at Bloom Health will be an important part of the design, development and quality of our software applications.

The Bloom Health software applications include consumer-facing websites, operations management applications and internal software systems.

The Responsibilities:

• Manage release schedule and release promotion process from development to production, as well as manage Bloom's QA team of 3
• Direct and manage application development and quality assurance to ensure quality and timely delivery
• Develop project plans and associated communications documents
• Manage projects using the Agile Development process utilizing team scrums and iterative development. Works with Technical Architect, Software Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Managers and Quality Assurance to test complex environments.
• Effectively communicate release expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
• Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
• Participate in product meetings and provide estimations and feedback
• Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate team members
• Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the team and across teams
• Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
• Actively communicate to stakeholders issues and changes related to releases
• Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the release
• Should be familiar with functional testing, system testing, integration testing and regression
• Other duties as assigned

The Requirements:

• BA/BS in related area
• Minimum 3-5 years experience in managing releases
• Experience leading Story creation meetings as well as iteration and release planning meetings
• Experience in working in agile environment
• Ability to conform and communicate shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical, problem-solving and interpersonal capabilities
• Reacts to product and release adjustments promptly and efficiently
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills
• Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources

If You Have Any of These, It’s a Bonus:

• Experience with Mac operating systems
• Experience with convention over configuration frameworks like Grails, Rails or Django
