Empora.com is a new online shopping destination that uses cutting-edge visual comparison technology to help people find the products they're looking for from across the UK's top retailers. We enable searching by colour and shape in addition to more conventional means, so there should be plenty of opportunity to work on new and interesting problems in a visually rich environment.

We're looking for a talented Front-End software guru to join the team to help us take our web presence to the next level. Our current technology stack consists of jQuery, Grails, Tomcat, Lucene and MySQL, although we'll soon be moving to a more distributed backend (MongoDB).

We also have some components in Air, Flash and Flex, and some hosted on the Google App Engine.

The ideal person should have:

• 5+ years experience
• Good communication skills
• Solid HTML/CSS/Javascript
• Experience using Grails or other Java-based web frameworks
• Understanding of scaling issues, concurrency, optimisation, etc.
• Exposure to Flash/Flex/Air and mobile platforms is beneficial
• Experience authoring iPhone and iPad apps beneficial
• Awesomeness
