The SpringSource Engineering team is seeking a motivated, experienced Software Evangelist with deep knowledge of Groovy & Grails to work with the SpringSource marketing and Grails engineering teams. Candidates must possess multiple skills and have the ability to both write good technical content and develop software using Groovy & Grails.
In this role, the candidate will:
• Work closely with the SpringSource marketing team to produce content about Groovy & Grails such as articles, sample applications, tutorials & screencasts
• Be responsible for creating original content
• Be responsible for improvements to the Groovy & Grails web properties
• Be responsible for editing existing web content, documentation, and tutorials
• Be required to monitor and participate in the relevant open source communities as a company advocate and as a customer advocate to be sure our content is effectively meeting our customer and community needs
• Be able to author technical presentations and engage in public speaking opportunities at community and industry events. Some international travel may be required
• Be able to understand and track user community engagement using a number of web metrics such as visitor traffic, downloads, and user interaction via social media
• Be required to maintain technical acumen in key technology areas sufficient for interacting with the development team collaboratively on an ongoing basis. Specific technology areas are:
o Groovy
o Grails
o Spring technologies
Qualifications:
• Extensive experience developing Groovy & Grails applications
• Experience writing technical articles
• Experience participating in agile development is a plus
• Proven collaboration skills in highly technical software teams
• Open source community experience is a plus
